From High School Movers to Our Own Company
Before Lansing Moving Pros existed, we were just a group of friends who happened to be really good at moving things. Most of us started working for other moving companies in the East Lansing and Lansing area during high school - loading trucks, carrying furniture, showing up early and working hard. We were the guys other movers called when they needed an extra hand on a tough job.
We learned the trade from the ground up. We learned how to wrap a dresser so it doesn't scratch in transit. How to carry a piano down a narrow staircase without breaking either the piano or the wall. How to load a truck so that nothing shifts on the highway. How to read a customer - when to move fast, when to slow down and be careful, and how to communicate clearly even when a move gets complicated.

That question stuck. By the time we were heading into the East Lansing community, we had hundreds of hours of real moving experience between us. We knew the logistics. We knew how to handle customers. We knew the difference between a moving company that cares and one that doesn't - because we'd worked for both.
So we did it. We pooled what we had, built the brand, put on the hoodies, and started booking jobs under the Lansing Moving Pros name. Our first customers were people who knew us personally - friends of the family, neighbors, people who'd seen us work. Word spread fast. In this business, one great move turns into five referrals. We stayed focused, kept our standards high, and grew organically from there.
We're Just Getting Started
Lansing Moving Pros isn't a passion project or a side hustle. It's our company and we intend to build it into the most trusted moving company in mid-Michigan. We want to be the name everyone in East Lansing, Lansing, Okemos, Haslett, and every surrounding city immediately thinks of when they need to move - not because of ads, but because of the reputation we earn one job at a time.
We want to grow our crew with people who share our standards: show up on time, work hard, treat every customer's belongings like they're your own, and never cut corners. We want to expand our services, our coverage area, and our team in a way that never dilutes what makes us who we are.
Most importantly, we want to keep proving that young entrepreneurs in Michigan can build something real. This isn't just about moving furniture. It's about showing up for our community, creating jobs for people who work hard, and demonstrating that you don't need a franchise name or decades of history to be the best at what you do. You need standards, commitment, and a team that genuinely cares.
